Proprietor Jackie Topping studied at the University of Greenwich and is a qualified fine artist specialising in ceramics.  The Childrens Pottery Workshop was set up in 1993, providing successful workshops in the local area for children of all ages. Jackie has also been teaching  adults with learning difficulties for 10 years, and has also worked on school projects and regularly runs holiday classes for local councils.

The ambition of a studio fully opening to the public came to fruition four years ago in the form of A Touch of Clay,based in Sevenoaks in Kent.

Whether it is a bag of clay you wish to purchase, just want to have a dabble with clay or want to learn a full range of pottery skills we can help. We have also recently introduced a range of unique pottery, hand made at the studio, which you can decorate to your own style. We are happy to work with all age groups and abilities.
We have also extended our range to include art classes and mosaic classes and are constantly introducing new ideas.

For larger groups we also have an out of studio service where we can come to nurseries, schools, clubs, brownie evenings, fetes, etc. This service can cover anything from simple hand prints or tailor made sessions to full projects following the national curriculum.

Jackie also produces her own work which can be viewed at the studio and periodically in exhibitions and galleries.Commissions also taken.
